April 2017 YP of the Month: Craig Much
Where do you work, what is your current position and what do you like most about it?
I work at Fox Valley Savings Bank (FVSBank) as a Business Banker. The best part of my position is that as a mutual bank, FVSBank doesn’t have stockholders driving the decision making, allowing me to offer better rates and personal service to customers. Another great part of my position is that I get to help start businesses, grow existing businesses, and transition businesses to the next generation of owners.
What has YPF done for your personal and/or professional development?
YPF has provided different platforms to meet individuals from a variety of backgrounds. The professional development events that YPF puts together are always very informative. The networking events, like Member Monday, offer an opportunity to meet people in a more comfortable manner than a typical networking event.
Where do you see the Fond du Lac area in five years?
I see the Fond du Lac area continuing to grow and develop in the next five years. A key factor to that growth will be meeting the labor needs of the employers in the area. Embracing the trades and encouraging youth to take advantage of places like the Idea Studio in the Fond du Lac Library will be vital to the growth of Fond du Lac.
What words of wisdom do you have for other young professionals working in Fond du Lac?
The best advice that I can give other young professionals in Fond du Lac is to not be afraid to take a chance when faced with an opportunity. Taking a chance could be as simple as introducing yourself to someone you don’t know or as complex as starting your own business.
