Describe Yourself in Three Words: positive, loyal optimistic

Place of Employment and Position: Director of Marketing and Festivals, Destination Lake Winnebago Region

What do you enjoy the most about your current position?

The ability to collaborate with lots of different organizations and individuals in the Fond du Lac and surrounding communities.

What is the one thing you would do if you knew you could not fail?

Play the lottery.

How has YPF contributed to your personal and/or professional development?

YPF has helped me become more connected in the Fond du Lac Community and has opened my eyes to lots of opportunities to get involved with initiatives that I’m passionate about.

Who or what is your source of professional inspiration?

My family – Everyday, I try to make those closest to me proud of who I’ve become.

What are some of the professional and volunteer groups you participate in?

YPF, of course.  I’m also on planning committees for the Downtown Fond du Lac Placemaking initiative, Fondue Fest, Meet your Local Farmer, Waupun Festivals, Shepherd of the Hills Parish,  and Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball (2020).  Also, I’m on the Marketing Committee for the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership.

What is your favorite thing to do in the Fond du Lac area?

Take a stroll in downtown Fond du Lac with my mom.  She works across the street from me!

Where do you see the Fond du Lac area in 5 years?

I see the fruits of a lot of individuals, organizations and businesses paying off.  With so many projects in-process and areas of development across the city, I see Fond du Lac being recognized as one of the most “up-and-coming” communities in the nation.

What words of wisdom do you have for other young professionals working in Fond du Lac?

Talk to someone you don’t know as often as you can.  You’ll be surprised by what you learn!

In keeping with YPF’s theme for this year, “Create Your Change,” how have you or will you create your change?

Being open to change is the first step in creating change.  Many times, I find myself getting comfortable in my roles/responsibilities and need to make a conscious effort to step outside my comfort zone and follow my arrow (so to speak).  That arrow leads me to follow my passions and better myself and those individuals and organizations around me by rallying around an idea.
