May 2017 YP of the Month: Jenny Knuth
Name: Jenny Knuth
Hometown: Eden, WI
Education: Associate Degree in Applied Arts – Graphic Design from Madison Area Technical College; Bachelor in Applied Sciences – Leadership & Organizational Studies from University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.
Where do you work, what is your current position and what do you like most about it?
I work at wisnet.com in the role of Art Director / Strategy and Design. I love the extraordinary variety and challenges of the work – every day is something new and different. However, what I like most about wisnet is definitely the culture and people.
What has YPF done for your personal and/or professional development?
To avoid this turning into a novel, I’ll keep it simple and say that YPF was a kick starter for so many great things personally and professionally in my life – including but not limited to: a strong connection to my community and a huge supportive network, my current job here at wisnet, a vocational trip to Australia for five weeks (yup – you read that right!), and really just a greater confidence in everything I do.
Who or what is your source of professional inspiration?
My peers and other YPs are always a huge support and motivator, but I would also have to say my podcast addiction is a daily source.
What are some of the professional and volunteer groups you participate in?
Thanks to YPF, I’m also active in the following organizations: Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund, Sophia Foundation, Envision Fond du Lac, TEDxFondduLac, Pop-Up Fond du Lac, and Fond du Lac Marketing Professionals.
What words of wisdom do you have for other young professionals working in Fond du Lac?
Get involved! I don’t care if you don’t know anyone or are shy. I was in that exact position a handful of years ago too. There are endless opportunities that will open up to you when you connect to your community and the great people here.
