Young Professionals donate $7,000 to American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75
Incredible generosity helped to make the 2015 YPF Casino Night fundraiser a tremendous success! Through the support and generosity of sponsors, donors and attendees the Young Professionals of Fond du Lac (YPF) were able to present a $7,000 check donation to the American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75 of Fond du Lac.
“The American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75 is honored that YPF selected our organization as the recipient for this year’s Casino Night donation,” said Ed Barnes, commander of the Fond du Lac American Legion. “We also appreciate the volunteers and sponsors of the event, as well as all the attendees, as we know this donation would not be possible without everyone’s support and participation.”
On Friday, September 11, Wisco Hotel Group’s Holiday Inn in Fond du Lac was enveloped in a Casino Night atmosphere where young professionals and community members raised $7,000 to give back. The event also helped to stock up on items for care packages for veterans and their families, as attendees donated toiletries to a supply drive, overflowing eight big boxes with items! The care package boxes are prepared for local veterans in need, sent to King – a veteran’s home located in Waupaca, WI, and shipped out to deployed service men and women all over the world throughout the year.
“The annual YPF Casino Night fundraiser is all about giving back to the community,” explained Amy Jessen, 2015 YPF president. “The coordination of the event this year on 9/11 and the beneficiary was intentional as we felt it was a wonderful way to honor the fallen and thank the individuals who continue to serve by raising funds for this great organization.”
The American Legion is the largest veterans organization in the nation. American Legion Post #75 is committed to serving veterans of the Fond du Lac community and beyond – sharing camaraderie with fellow veterans, helping veterans and active military and their families, and honoring the fallen. Funds from the September 11 event will aid the American Legion in their daily outreach efforts and services provided. Services provided include transportation and other support/assistance for veterans in need, funding for Camp American Legion and the Fisher House, supply drives and much more.
