Where do you work, what is your current position and what do you like most about it?
I am an Independent Marketing Consultant specializing in Social Media and Communication. I love what I do because I get to work with a wide variety of clients who appreciate that social media is constantly evolving and demands the attention of a skilled team leader. Marketing allows creative spirits, like myself, to give life to our wildest ideas.
What has YPF done for your personal and/or professional development?
I can’t say enough about the impact YPF has had on my personal and professional growth. Being a part of the organization has exposed me to a group of intelligent business men and women who push me to achieve my goals and to expand what I believe I am capable of. Since joining the Board of Directors in 2013 (or 2012?! not 100% sure) YPF has also built my professional decision-making skills and developed my ability to assess critical organizational matters.
Who or what is your source of professional inspiration?
I find constant inspiration from many of my Marketing peers I have met through YPF. We have developed a network of skilled individuals that allows us to lean on each other for help, feedback and a creative boost.
What are some of the professional and volunteer groups you participate in?
I am on the Board of Directors for Young Professionals of Fond du Lac and Fond du Lac Festivals. I serve on the YPF Programming and Events Committee and am also a member of a local marketing group. Additionally, I volunteer as a Disaster Relief Aid with Habitat for Humanity.
What is your favorite thing to do in the Fond du Lac area?
Now that summer is here I am thrilled to spend time hopping from event to event in Fond du Lac. My calendar is booked with exciting happenings, including the Saturday Farmer’s Market, Walleye Weekend, Taste of Fond du Lac and live outdoor entertainment at local venues.
What words of wisdom do you have for other young professionals working in Fond du Lac?
My advice is easy. Laugh, enjoy the moment and remind yourself you are capable of achieving greatness. No matter if I’m in a professional meeting or socializing with my husband, family and friends I make an effort to infuse some fun into the setting. Life can get serious so you have to take a deep breath, remember that you can handle anything and prepare to tackle the situation.
